Are You a Pantheist?

Are You a Pantheist?

Is this Earth your true spiritual home?

From pantheism.net...

"Are you searching for a path that focuses on this Earth rather than some imaginary beyond, that makes saving the planet its focus not saving your eternal soul, that respects individual choice rather than pushing prejudice down people's throats, that values reason rather than fanaticism?

Do you find it impossible to believe in supernatural beings, and difficult to conceive of anything more worthy of reverence than the beauty of Nature or the power of the Universe?

Do you feel a deep sense of peace and belonging and wonder in the midst of Nature, in a forest, by the ocean, or on a mountain top? Are you speechless with awe when you look up at the sky on a clear moonless night and see the Milky Way strewn with stars as thick as sand on a beach? When you see breakers crashing on a rocky shore, or hear wind rustling in a poplar's leaves, are you uplifted by the energy and creativity of existence?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you will feel thoroughly at home in the World Pantheist Movement."

Really? This doesn't quite sound like pantheism! Perhaps it is an enticing bit of advertising. However, further down the rabbit hole we do find the defining bit of pan-theism, that the universe is God (or vice versa). Actually, pantheism.net doesn't mention God much, which is in their favour, as it is rather regressive to insist on hanging an old label on a new bottle.

If God <=> Universe then one of the two words is superfluous.

aphrodisiac dung

mmm... the site does seem at times more carbon-footprint than God's fingerprint. As for the smell of dung... not quite an aphrodisiac. Money for your Thoughts - join now OWO-HP

Not only do I

Not only do I "...feel a deep sense of peace and belonging and wonder in the midst of Nature, in a forest, by the ocean, or on a mountain top. Speechless with awe when I look up at the sky on a clear moonless night and see the Milky Way strewn with stars as thick as sand on a beach. When I see breakers crashing on a rocky shore, or hear wind rustling in a poplar's leaves, I am uplifted by the energy and creativity of existence?" But I love the smell of a clean barn. Nothing more cleansing then the smell of fresh hay and manure. The peace of nature. I am a controversy. MJ
