The "Nude Governor Series"
posted December 20, 2008 - 9:56pmBruce Elliot sparked controversy some weeks back when he created a painting of Governor Sarah Palin in the nude. Now, just to prove he's not altogether a political partisan, he's aimed his paint brush at the Democratic governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, who's currently embroidered in a major scandal.
The painting, entitled "The Cavity Search," shows Blagojevich handcuffed, wearing an orange jumpsuit which as has been pulled down to his knees. A prison guard looks on, about to perform a grim duty, as he pulls on a rubber glove. This, of course, is meant to portray the governor's first day of impending incarceration.
Apparently, this is yet another in what Elliot loosely calls his "nude governor series." The painting depiction a nude Sarah Palin hangs in the Old Town Ale House bar, owned by his wife.
Watch the YouTube video below for a glimpse of the still unfinished painting, some of Elliot's other works of art, and his own personal perspective on his artistic endeavors.
