Asia's best tourist destination

According to Travel and Leisure magazine it is Asia's best tourist destination, the third in the world in 2006 and overall best city in the world in 2008. It is also voted the best city in Asia according to Conde Nast Traveler magazine. Bangkok is Thailand's major tourist gateway, which means that the majority of foreign tourists arrive in Bangkok. The Tourism Authority of Thailand hopes to draw 15 million tourists in 2007, up from 11.6 million in 2005. The city boasts some of the country's most visited historical venues such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun. There are numerous projects to maintain Bangkok's historic sites in the Rattanakosin area and river districts.

Thailand is a wonderful Country
Can't get enough of Thailand. It is such a unique country and so enjoyable. Its hotels are best value anywhere I have ever been. Some awesome hotels. Beaches are beautiful,, food is outstanding and there is so much to see and do. Bangkok is definitely one of the most interesting and exciting cities in the wrold. Yes it is noiey, yes it could be said a bit chaotic...but what city is not. But wow is there so much to see. 5 star restaurants on 60th floors with amazing views; eat on the street for less than a $1. Shop in some of the best shopping malls in the world. Zoom round the city on the clean and air conditioned skytrain. See the wondeful theatre shows ssuch as the Siam Niramit which puts on a world class performance that is so spectacular www.siamniramit.com ; Take a boat trip on the river to Ayyuttaya the ancient city.
Thailand is a marvelous holiday experience. One of the best places in the world to go.
