Associated Content using positive reinforcement

Associated Content using positive reinforcement

I am pleased to announce, that AC announced that The Performance Bonus beta starts today. In addition to being paid up front for our articles, based on a mysterious and complicated formula, writers also are paid $1.50 per 1,000 views.

I imagine if I had as many posts on Xomba as I do articles on AC, I would probably be making the same, but I was writing there before here and the habit it hard to break.

What does this mean to the Associated Content writer? It means write well, and get people to read your writing, and you may actually make a living wage working for Associated Content. Write poorly and people will probably not visit your writing again, so you will not be paid a bonus. Write well, but do not promote your writing, and you will not get much of a bonus. No matter how you look at it, if you want a bonus, you will write well and promote it. Associated Content is rewarding desired behavior.

Do Associated Content writers feel used? I know that some have resented having to market their work. After all, we are writers, not marketing executives. However, if they decide to write for AC, they need to work to make AC successful. Frankly, if I were ready to work for New York Times, I would be offended if they asked me to deliver their papers, but Associated Content is an entirely different type of media. When on the internet, you must do what internet people do.

Are Associated Content writer happy? From looking at the message boards, it is apparent to me that there are some happy campers over there. I, for instance am very happy. After looking at my individual articles I realized that although I may have accepted $10.00 for an article that took me 1 hour to write, with bonus, I could add a couple of extra dollars a month to that same article. Therefore, my pay per hour increases greatly. A $10.00 article could be worth $50.00 easy and possibly even hundreds if marketed well.

Can Associated Content writers count on this program to continue? I will have to keep my fingers crossed. Back in December, AC started awarding bonuses based on a minimum of monthly views per article. This bonus program did not last long. Of course, that bonus program seemed unreachable to many, so eventually they stopped aiming for it. This bonus however, is easily achievable, so hopefully AC will say, "If the writers are happy, then we are happy". So far, as far as I can tell, the writers are happy.

they sold me too

hi, i was searching for ac news and articles, and found your stuff here. i've signed up also. you said ac is using "positive reinforcement," sometimes it seems like random reinforcement to me. nice site, nice people, but i was going to reactivate my blogs and site, get back in adsense, and this is even better. thanks for leading me here! dave

YOU GUYS ARE GREAT SALES PEOPLE!

I get $15-$30 for contract articles, generally. Of course that work has max limits unlike xomba and AC (w/ some exceptions). I need to figure out exactly how I am going to do my AC / Xomba experieriment. Once thing I will certainly do it put underbidded articles from AC on Xomba... maybe I will do an hour a day on each... I am under contract as a homeschooling blogger, so I would have to do general education if I were to do a blog here... thinking, thinking, thinking. ~write your plans in pencil and give God the eraser~ I am an artist, writer, and decorator. I love to answer home decor question, so If you have any, please drop me a note and I will post your answer in my next xombyte!

Not just websites

Not just websites, but articles and blogs as well. Or news items. If you want to submit video all you have to do is copy and post the embeded code from youtube.com. Just make sure your summaries are long enough that the Google Ads are targeted. Next time your write a long article for AC and they offer you like $10 bucks for it instead of giving it to them, post it here. Then wait a month. I bet you end up making way more than $10 in the long run.

Do you consistently get $15 for your AC articles?

If you do, that's great. I've never gotten offered more than $6 or $7 from them, unless it's a special offer (which is about all I will do for them these days). It's not worth my time to research and write a solid article and then be offered 3 or 4 bucks for it, which was happening. I've heard they've also moved to offering fractional amounts, like $4.33, though I don't know if this is good or bad (in previous times, would that have been a $4 offer or a $5 one?) You said you'll do one of each (AC article and xombyte) a day. Why limit yourself to one xombyte? Since they only have to be 25 words, you could do several in the time it takes to write one 400-word AC article. And with the new xomblurbs, you can submit Web sites you come across--on homeschooling, crafts, writing, etc. You could probably do at least a dozen of those in a day.

nice offer nick

but I wouln't sell for less than $15.00!... unless I was also getting residuals! I am serious about my experiment... Xomba has an excellent chance of winning! ~write your plans in pencil and give God the eraser~ I am an artist, writer, and decorator. Well...

I understand your point. If anyone wants to send me articles to buy for $6-$10 a piece then I'll be happy to take a look at that. If you really want to go that route. We're about to start a new feature called Xomblurbs. It should go Beta sometime tonight. Another way to earn money.

I don't disagree with you frank!

But I need to get paid when i write stuff But to be fair, I plan on writing one post or article a day for each site. At the end of that year, I will stay with the site where i am earning a better regular income! I will keep everyone posted on my progress. Another point to Xomba's credit... I originally wrote this for AC, but they rejected it and said it belonged in the forums... kinda made me think... I don't get paid for forums... so I posted here. ~write your plans in pencil and give God the eraser~ I am an artist, writer, and decorator. Let me be frank

1. Associated Content is starting this beta because 50% adsense is better than their formula. 2. They are paying you $1.50 CPM extra... Good Xombytes or any articles get 10-25 dollars CPM. 3. Associated Content is a huge site and been around for a long time. However, when you put stuff on Xomba you will earn money on it, forever. Not just a one time deal with a minimal bonus plan. They make their income off adsense. Their making 40 times a month what they pay you and they make it every month. Don't believe me? Ask them to share 50% adsense with you. Xomba does that. Xomba believes you should be worth half.
