Atonement Movie Review - A Nice Movie for a Getaway Moment

I decided to see this as it had struck me as something interesting from the ad for it. It drew me into the movie from the first and I was interested in it.

The English can be very good at making movies. It was a nice calm movie. Even when bad things are going on it's still pretty calm. Tempers do flare amongst the lower classes.

The upper class family is in the house and what a house it is a mansion. It's nice to watch that. I didn't like the girl actress the blonde sister much but she was ok. It was a bit hard to relate to them. The sister Keira Knightley has a boyfriend and it goes on from there. The other one is jealous.

What develops from this is a tangled mess. There is deceit and bad undercurrents that are just too much. The girl is writing a story. She gets the boyfriend in trouble with a lie which is never very clear. They believe her. His mother is mad and bangs on the car. There is also a rape there that is it by someone else and it seems like who wouldn't know or believe that a bit.

The war is there and she goes on to be a nurse. There is a bit of mystery to it. I don't want to spoil it for you what happens since that's really the only excitement to the movie.

It was enlightening to see what went on in England during the World War II was it? almost not sure. But I knew that. It was certainly sad seeing them dying.

It goes on to Vanessa Redgrave being the sister and reading her book. By this time I had gotten a little tired of the subterfuge and was wondering why I had watched it. I was glad mostly that I had.
