The Australian false
vampire bat is also known as the Australian ghost bat or simply as the
ghost bat. Its name comes from the fact that it once believed to feed
on blood. This was a false belief.

Physical Characteristics

The
Australian false vampire bat is four to four and three quarters inches
long. It weighs two and a half to five ounces. Their wingspan can be
nearly twenty inches wide.
