Auto Insurance Quotes On Line – Car Rate Comparison Chart
(Best Syndication) There are a lot of variables involved in determining a specific auto insurance rate. The rate will depend on your location, your driving record, the number of miles you drive to work, etc.
We have conducted a survey (See company rate comparison chart below) to get a ball park figure for a single man named John Doe living in rural Southern California.
Driver and Type of Car:
If you are married with children and have multiple drivers, your rates may vary. For our case study we used a single male born January 1st 1970. The John Doe has lived in his home for 5 years and drives a 2000 Toyota Camry CE with a 3.0 Liter V-8 motor. Of course your rate will also depend on the car you drive. We chose Camry because it is a very common car.
For this case study we said the car had 2 wheel antilock brakes, and an alarm. John Doe drove the car to and from work 5 days a week. He drove to and from work 25 miles one-way. The total mileage per year worked out to 13,000 miles.
Driver Discounts:
For these results we said the car was paid for and John Doe was an architect for 5 years. There were no other drivers on the account. There were no accidents or driving violations within the last 5 and 7 years respectively. The driver had not completed an approved accident prevention course in the last three years. So there were no discounts given for that. The driver did not have homeowners insurance.
Current Coverage:
The insurance companies will want to know if you currently have coverage. For our survey we said no and did not give a reason. If you currently have insurance, you may get a discount for that. We wanted the coverage to start the next month.
Coverage:
We wanted a bare minimum of coverage. We chose a policy for $15,000 personal injury, $30,000 per accident and $5,000 property damage. John Doe rejected both Uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist coverage. We declined medical payments for ourselves and also comprehensive coverage. John Doe also chose to reject collision, towing and rental coverage.
