For people with failing kidneys, dialysis may soon just become part of history. We all know that people with kidney failure has no option but to go to the hospital for dialysis.
This usually involves hours hooked in a dialysis machine to have your blood filtered for waste.
But such procedure may become a thing of the past later on. A wearable or portable kidney is being develop. This new portable kidney device is small and light enough to fit in a belt system. The machine is called, Awak, short for automated wearable artificial kidney. Developed by Martin Roberts and David B.N.
It is reported that the device can be worn 24 hours a day, seven days a week, just like a real kidney.
