Avant Gaudy - Vintage Clothes with a purpose

Avant Gaudy is a vintage clothing company started by Deborah Umunnabuike, 23 and Jessica Umunnabuike, 21. The company focuses on selling vintage clothing not only in the home country of the two entrepreneurs, but also internationally. Vincent Choi, the third member of the company brings with him a global perspective, particularly in Asia.

Avant Gaudy is featured in a column called the Best Entrepreneurs of 2007 in Business Week. The article and contest for best entrepreneur under 25 is online at this link.

Unfortunately, and probably due to the spike in internet traffic that being featured in this article caused, Avant Gaudy is temporarily off line. The article was also featured on yahoo.

Not only do they have a great name, the two Umunnabuike sister and Mr. Choi are focused on creating a "more socially responsible" business.

I just wish the site was up.
