Avoiding a Hangover.
posted September 27, 2009 - 2:35amWe all love to party and feel good and for most of us, that involves alcohol consumption. So here are the tried and true ways to prevent a hangover, especially if you start work at 7a.m. (like I do):
1. Eat a substantial amount of food before drinking. This actually slows down the alcohol from absorbing so quickly.
2. Remember thine own limits. We know that if you're hurling on the front lawn, you've probably gone too far and will suffer a hangover in the morning. However, if you haven't done so already, pay attention to how you're feeling. We all know our own limits but tend to ignore them in a social setting.
3. Stay hydrated with water in between drinks. This dilutes the alcohol before reaching to your liver.
4. Stick with lighter drinks rather than 40% or 80 proof rum :)
5. Stick to one type of alcohol. Don't have a beer, then a Bloody Mary and try to do Kaluah and creme next. That will be disastrous in the morning!!!
6. Vitamin C - 1000mg before drinking.
