Babies just don't have that fresh-car smell

to nobody
everybody
the wind if
she will listen
but what she really
wants
is Mommy's arms
even Daddy's
won't win her attention

Ever hear of that new car smell? Don't you wish your horseless chariot had the creak and smell of an untouched leather interior? The purr of a fresh engine, just waiting for somebody to break it in, teach it how to drive? Those new car smells, those new car noises, aren't they just the ideal?
Well, an analogy doesn't work with people.
The new noises of people are cries, farts, coos, farts, burps, mouth bubbles, and, did I mention farts? The smells are that of poo-poo, spit-up, pee-pee and poo-poo. The movements are uncontrolled leg kicks, amazing twists of the face that extend to the whole body when a little belly decides it's time to eat, or because some gas needs help finding its way out.
But those new people smiles? There's nothing better than locking eyes with a truly open and innocent smile that only can be seen in new people :)
