Baby Teeth
posted August 14, 2009 - 5:47pmWell hello to all the moms and dads out there who have had or are looking forward to this experience.
Recently my 6 year old son came to me to let me know his two front bottom teeth were wobbling...my initial response...?? Excitement.
Why should that excite me. well for me it meant he was growing up...another stage of childhood passed that could never be revisited.
Well time passed and we spent 3 weeks watching him pull all sorts of funny faces, most of which were not particularly flattering....
I tried to coax him to let me look to see if I could pull off some of the tricks that my own Mom had used on me...alas none of them did. So we were left with teeth that were hanging on by a thread....
My next move..?? I asked him if he knew hw much the tooth fairy was leaving for a tooth these days...apparently it was $5....talk about inflation.....
He must have had plans for the money as the very next evening he came running to me with his hand clutched tight...the contents..???...His teeth...
He told me quite proudly that the knack to it all was to just give the teeth a little twist.....He went to bed that night excited about the prospect of money under his pillow.....Me however ...I sat and cried....Maybe I don't want my little boy to grow up after all....
