Babylon AD

Babylon AD opens Aug. 28th starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh, Melanie Thierry, Gerard Depardieu and Charlotte Rampling. This FOX feature directed by Mathiew Kassovitz is about hiring mercenary Vin Diesel to deliver a package from Eastern Europe to New York City. The "package" is a young, mysterious woman bearing a secret. Not to give too much of the story away, but while escorting her to America, they become hunted by a cult that is trying to extract from her an organism that apparently will become an genetically modified Messiah.
Unfortunately this film appears to have some similarities to the film "Children of men" which also bears a post-apocalyptic theme. It also has been taken out of director Mathiew Kassovitz' hands, altered greatly and has run beyond production costs and limitations. We'll all just have to wait and see how it fares at the box office.
Vin Diesel is at it yet again doing what he does best, taking on a futuristic world (Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick) in which he might seem like the bad guy but surely by the end of the story, he winds up becoming the savior. The film promises to portray plenty of intense action sequences, explosions and some amazing CGI effects. Rated PG-13
