Yes, Barrack HUSSEIN Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America!

I just had to post this in response to all of the IGNORANT fools who loved to use his name to instill negative feelings in other IGNORANT voters who would judge a man on his name!

I saw so many ads and comments from people trying to attach the negative connotation of Saddam Hussein to Barack Hussein Obama. How pitiful it was to see people resorting to such childish stunts. It was kind of like like saying, "I'm not voting for this candidate because of the following reasons. He is a doody-head, he is stinky and I don't like him. Oh yeah and he's got a funny name!"

Well, although Barack Obama is NOT my ideal choice for President of the United States, it was the ever increasing lunacy of right-wing idiots that engaged in this type of behavior that has distanced myself and countless other long-time Republicans from the party. I think the results in the election speak for themselves.

Here's a little psychobabble: People with a healthy self-image are rarely racists, because they just don't feel threatened by others who don't look like them. Having said that, most people (even Obama's recently deceased white grandma, apparently) do have a tinge of culture-driven racist paranoia.

what to make of that rant, but I would like to make the point that if it was racially motivated, Obama wasn't elected by blacks, he was elected by white Americans. Look at the numbers. It should speak volumes about those that think racism is so ingrained in our (white/caucasian) thought processes. Does it exist? Yes, but it is not mainstream. I wish I had kept count, but I'm sure in my lifetime I have come across just as many blacks who hate whites as whites who hate blacks and I know for sure one old chinese lady who hated blacks..It takes all kinds and I have always quickly disassociated myself from all of those people. Because the universe does its own thing, which, in my experience, has sometimes worked out to the benefit of humans and often has not. In other words, life's pretty much a crapshoot, and if there's actually a "God" up there, it's pretty obvious that she's out to lunch most of the time. I do wish that so many humans weren't racially/ethnically motivated and that they looked within rather than without, because we're not all that different from each other, under our skin. As I've said before, it's great to have a black president, but that shouldn't be such a big deal, in an ideal universe.

I have not changed my views, I've just remained centered as both major parties have ran to the far wings. As far as allegiances go, I never registered as Republican or a Democrat, I just vote Republican on many issues and have voted republican tickets most of my life. In this respect my allegiance is only to my country. I have not changed. Obama is FAR from my ideal candidate. He is however the most apt to change some of his views as he matures into his presidency. Many of the things Obama stands for go against my own personal interests.
