Barack Obama and the "Change" We Need to Believe In
posted November 5, 2008 - 1:51amSince the 2008 Presidential election has now been decided, it's time to get to the bottom of some issues that have been left unanswered. Barack Hussein Obama Jr. will be the next president of the United States. Throughout the entire campaign and election process, he and his staff have refused to answer questions about his friends and alliances and have refused to release records about his past. They did not do so because they claimed those topics were merely "distractions" to the campaign.
Well, the campaign is now over. Obama is going to be sworn in as president in January. We have two and a half months until that happens. Isn't it time that the mainstream media finally does its job and properly vet this man before he takes office? Isn't it time for Obama to demonstrate to the People that he is willing to practice what he preaches – which is transparency? There's nothing that can be done to prevent him from becoming president, so there is no reason why there cannot be full disclosure of information. It's too late to stop him, but it's not too late for the citizens of this country to finally know and understand who he is.
The fact of the matter is, there are great misgivings about Obama's past and his friends and alliances. He has kept secret his college transcripts and thesis paper. He has been caught severely downplaying his relationships with radicals. He is on record using anti-capitalist rhetoric and language, particularly lamenting the lack of "redistribution." It's important to understand the philosophy behind the proposals he has made. And looking at his public and political history, it's not comforting to examine his record, his relationships, and his rhetoric.
Obama speaks of unity, but divides us with his words. He speaks of transparency, but hides his past from the public view. He speaks of "change," but doesn't explain exactly what that change will be (except taxing the producers of society and spending that revenue on new government programs). He speaks of reform and fighting corruption, but has never done anything of the sort during his political career.
It is no longer a time for words and speeches. It's time for Obama to act. It's time for the People to show some sign of interest in something other than a well-delivered, scripted speech. It's time for the mainstream media to follow the leads of the "new" media and get to the bottom of who Obama truly is and what he has to hide. The time for excuses and name-calling is over. It's time to finally find the answer to the question that was asked long ago:
Who is Barack Obama?
*He may want to start by explaining some of his relationships detailed here:
