Barack Obama: I Will Bankrupt The Coal Industry - Watch Video Now & Hear Obama's Plan To Raise Electricity Rates - Shocking

Obama told the San Francisco Chronicle earlier this year that he will bankrupt the coal industry. Furthermore, he has plans to raise electricity rates. Shocking Video. Must See.

Unbelievable socialistic plans. Lots of coal workers will lose their job. And you thought the economy was bad now. And higher electricity rates too?

Shocking video.

It depends on what you refer to as the average American. Taxes are income related. 46% of Americans don't even pay taxes, that's the real problem. Many are Able bodied people out of work and just too dang sorry to get out and work because they think the rest of us will take care of them. I happen to fall in the 35% (+\- 1 or 2% bracket) I earn in excess of, well that's none of your business, but I assure you I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination. OK, I make more than 42k/yr, so is Obama going to cut my taxes or increase them? The McCain plan is to cut taxes across the board, all sectors, create more jobs, and reduce wasteful spending. Our country doesn't have to be turned into a socialist society to turn things around. Alternet is polluting your mind.

Because the Republicans have done so much better, Publius?

The track record for ALL PRESIDENTS of the 20th century and first part of the 21st isn't particularly bright. You can lay that at the feet of the Democrats only, but my point is that both sides have blame coming. The New Deal and FDR's power were only made possible by Republican financial shenanigans on Wall Street. JOIN XOMBA IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO ADD!

Learning how to read would help too, Jim.

I never blamed the Depression on FDR. I specifically mentioned his New Deal policies. The track record is what it is. FDR, LBJ, and Jimmy Carter. It's not exactly a great Democrat resume for a nation that is supposed to be grounded in individual liberty, individual responsibility, and capitalism. *If you're interested in reading my articles, Click Here.

How much does the average American pay in taxes, vbm?

You keep harping on Obama (and not McCain) raising our taxes, but you don't talk about how much the average Middle Class American pays right now. Please show me where McCain's policy is to "continue the current relatively low tax program" and compare it to what the average American pays right now. JOIN XOMBA IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO ADD!

no it wouldn't..

the McCain plan would be to keep the current coal mines and plants operational while retrofitting by phasing in the clean coal technology. Saying that everyone's electricity bill will undoubtedly skyrocket is not very encouraging and I hope the undecided voters out there listening very carefully to what this idiot is saying he will do if elected. Obamas redistribution plan: One real measure of personal freedom is how much money the government lets you keep to spend for yourself as you see fit. In the old Soviet Union, the communists took almost 100% of the people’s earnings in their “worker’s paradise”. They created a prison state of slaves. It’s an old axiom in politics -- and economics -- that the more you tax the people, the more you can control them. McCain’s policy is to continue the current relatively low tax program. Obama hopes that he will carry us all into the “Brave New World”, a world of draconian taxes that will crush our personal freedoms and send this country on a downward spiral like never before.

So Hoover's legacy was one of financial surpluses?

Herbert Hoover was a--um--Republican president who presided over perhaps the most disastrous economic downturn in American history called the Great Depression. While I disagree with certain aspects of FDR's administration, particularly the confiscation of the people's gold, he didn't cause the economic crisis that precipitated the Depression, so you can't pin that one on the Democrats. Lyndon Johnson pushed through the Great Society to break the power of the old way of thinking in the South, which was used to promote segregation of blacks and whites. It ended up costing him the support of his party and it gave the Republicans an "in" for their Southern Strategy. I don't agree with everything about the Great Society, either, but it had a longer benefit. JOIN XOMBA IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO ADD!

Knowing your history would help, Jim.

It has nothing to do with "fear." When we have a "liberal" president with a "liberal" majority in Congress, the country either takes a turn toward socialism or economic peril. Do you not remember what happened with Jimmy Carter. Did you not learn about the New Deal and the Great Society? It's not fear, Jim. It's reality. *If you're interested in reading my articles, Click Here.

The future is not written in stone

For all of these claims of what a President Obama WILL do once in office, how many people KNOW with first-hand information what WILL happen. Clinton took office in 1993 with the idea of universal health care, the so-called HillaryCare, which was shot down even with a Democratic majority in Congress. Here is the full interview with Barack Obama by the San Francisco Chronicle editorial board, which will give you the full context of his remarks: http://www.xomba.com/entire_san_francisco_chronicle_interview_barack_obama_48_33_minutes I have already voted for Obama, but I did not base my vote nor do I live my life in fear. The last paragraph of your comment smacks of fear. Besides, if the Democrats lose seats in Congress, it will not be because Obama is so popular but because the Republican Administration of Bush/Cheney has been so wildly unpopular. His comments had nothing to

His comments had nothing to do with "hazardous by-products." It had to do with carbon emissions based on the fraudulent "global warming" hypothesis. The cap-and-trade plan taxes big businesses and redistributes that money to smaller businesses. It is nothing more than economic redistribution for business - just like Obama's plan for redistribution with individuals. His plan will "bankrupt" the coal industry...those are his words. If it will bankrupt new coal plants like he claims, then what do you suppose it will do to existing ones? Where is his compassion for the middle class that will undoubtedly be paying vastly higher prices for a cap-and-trade tax? I thought he was all about saving the middle class. How do you expect to help them if you tax into bankruptcy the very industry that provides them with electricity? And it doesn't matter whether or not he has mentioned this recently. It is the agenda of the Democrat Party in Congress - the very party that will most likely enjoy a large majority in both houses after this election. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out what kind of legislation will be pushed through with a filibuster-proof Congress and the most "liberal" (socialist) president this country has ever had. Please tell me you're not that naive. *If you're interested in reading my articles, Click Here.

Neither

Obama's plan may not be necessarily to bankrupt anything, if you take his remarks in the context they were written. This may just be a plan to put coal producers on notice that he is serious about cleaning up the hazardous by-products of coal mining and coal-fired power plants. Since he hasn't said anything about it during the past few months, is there anything to indicate that this "bankrupting coal plants" is his highest priority or even "a" priority once he is elected? So, there is nothing to defend there. As for the media coverage, it may very well be the final story that Fox News airs tonight before the election to spin the story and turn voters away from Obama. Unfortunately for McCain, most voters, particularly Democrats and Independents, have swung for Obama, so if he pushes this story hard, there is likely nothing that will change the inevitable outcome of tomorrow's election. At worst for McCain, people will point out that he supports the same cap and trade plan, which will negate any impact the SF Chronicle "story" will have. JOIN XOMBA IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO ADD!
