Barnes & Noble's Nook eBook Reader: Amazon Kindle-Killer

The world's most advanced e-book reader was recently unveiled by Barnes & Noble to compete with Amazon Kindle and Sony Reader. The Nook was introduced last Tuesday and will begin shipping before the end of November. Be the first to get this very cool gadget for $259.

If you are an e-book fanatic or loves to read paper books, then you might want to get your hands on this neat gadget. It has a 6inch electronic ink paper display which provides the same no-glare and non-strain reading as the paper books. The 3.5inch full color display is a touch screen navigation that allows you to smoothly swipe from e-book to e-book and crisp internet surfing. Yes... this baby can access the internet and download e-books online via 3G network provided by AT&T. The built-in Wi-Fi provides another option to access the internet if you are outside the 3G coverage. Well, portable devices are made for mobility and for people that are always on the go.

The Nook has built-in 2GB of memory that can store 1500 e-books. That's actually like a library right at your finger tips. You can't imagine how you can fit 1500 books in your bag right? But with e-book reader, you can! If you are not satisfied with 1500 e-books, the Nook gives you the option to expand up to 16GB which can hold 17,500 e-books more. You won't have to ask for more.

The file format supported includes ePUB and other e-reader formats which can be downloaded from sources other than Barnes & Noble. The device also supports image file formats like PDFs, MP3, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP. You can actually customize the Nook by uploading your favorite photos as the screen saver. When you buy the Nook, you have access to 1 million free public domain titles from Google Books.

With the above features for an e-book, the Nook is predicted to boost sales of Barnes & Noble especially with its opening of e-book store mid this year. Great gadget!
