Batman and James Gordon join forces with Gotham's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker's crimes grow more and more deadly.

Right after taking out Ra's Al Ghul, and the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Jonathan Crane AKA Scarecrow, Batman continues on his war on crime in the streets of Gotham. But this time, he meets his match when a crazed murdering psychopath called The Joker, starts to bring forth chaos on the streets and makes it a personal agenda to take out the Dark Knight, before he gets to him first.
