BCS Selection Show
posted December 2, 2007 - 8:02pmUniversity of Hawai`i fans are invited to be a part of Fox Sports' live telecast of the Bowl Championship Series Selection Show, which will air in part from the Stan Sheriff Center Sunday, Dec. 2, if the UH football team qualifies for a BCS berth.
The final BCS rankings
will be announced tomorrow morning.
The Stan Sheriff Center gates will open at 2:15 p.m. and fans need to be seated by 2:50 p.m. for the 3:00 p.m. telecast. Admission is free. The BCS telecast will be shown live on the arena screens.
Last year, more than 13 million households nationally tuned in for the BCS Selection Show.
Herman Frazier, athletics director, said that this will be an incredible atmosphere with members of the football team, cheerleaders, pep band, and enthusiastic fans participating and that they wanted to show the nation the fantastic support that their Warriors receive from the entire Hawai`i ohana.
Fox Sports is planning to interview June Jones and Colt Brennan during the UH show and show video of the crowd in attendance. Fans are encouraged to wear green shirts and bring ti leaves, pom-poms, and signs.
The HHSAA state cheerleading championships are taking place in the arena, so several hundred high school cheerleaders and their friends and families will be a part of the crowd.
