Bear Steals Pickup - Leads Vermont Troopers on 3-Hour Chase!

A Black Bear stole a late model pickup truck from a highway rest area earlier today. Leading Vermont troopers on a 3 hour chase, the bear was apprehended after the truck ran out of gas on a rural stretch of highway.

The bear said that he stole the vehicle in protest of human encroachment on his habitat and to raise awareness about dwindling numbers of the American Black Bear population and also the plight of their "brothers in the north", the Polar Bear.

A Vermont State Trooper spokesman remarked that the bear was cooperative when he was apprehended, but failed a roadside sobriety test. He also stated, on behalf of the Vermont State Troopers, that "Although we sympathize with the plight of the bear population, this bear will have to be held accountable for his actions."

If you though this was for real...DUH! Bears can't talk!
