Beijing 2008 is the best Olympics ever – Mark Yes or No

Beijing 2008 Olympics definitely received huge applause and Chinese certify without a shadow of doubt that this one is the best ever. In the medal tally China was second to none and they really come out with flying colors. So the question arises –What makes China Olympics a special one and this is the best ever?

China successfully exhibited its traditional cultural identities before the world in the grand opening ceremony itself. The facilities were outstanding and the beautiful volunteers were scattered all around. There was a strong determination from the host that they would be on top at all costs and the authority certainly not asking for the moon.

The outstanding performance from Michel Phelps and Usain Bolt makes this Olympics a very special one. Who can forget the roar of Michel and dance of Bolt? Beijing witnessed end of U.S. era at least in the case of athletics. Many U.S. athletes would like to forget Bird’s Nest as early as possible.

2012 London Olympics definitely aim to pass China, a hard nut to crack? London can certainly set an example for the games. But the authority should work shoulder to shoulder for the grand success.

It is easier to rule a kingdom than a family. It is not easier to host an Olympics. In every country sun rises in the in the morning and we all waiting for the Olympics morning of London. All the very best London.

New olympic Standards...

China has recently opened to the world. A few years back this was a nation of fatheaded bureaucrats who wanted to keep the so called wealth of the country from outside world. This was an opportunity for the comunist gov. to prove themselves. Truly this Olympic have set a new standard for all olympics to come.

It's not hard for a communist regime

to display the most extravagant and impressive ventures especially when money is not a problem. When you have the whole population under your feet and never have to worry about the cost, which is forcibly covered by the working people, there is no limit of what can be done. There is no voluntarism in China, the is forced voluntarism. Not to forget the need to do whatever it takes to impress the rest of the world and depict an image far from the reality the country is living. China is a communist dictatorship. And that should say it all. To read my posts and articles click here: http://www.xomba.com/xombyte/lmorovan

Thaks for the long reply

Thanks Rawnak and I too fully agree with your views.

Yes, Pendrive

I agree on all your points here. China has definitely proved a point to the rest of the world. And this was certainly the best Olympic Opening and closing ceremony ever witnessed so far. I was really impressed with the whole affair and the organization of the event in such a "clock work precision"! What I admire the most is that the Chinese people displayed their true culture and heritage in such a graceful and magnificent and entertaining way that nobody would forget it so easily, and they showed the world that they were proud of their culture and tradition. India needs to learn some valuable lessons from this. We too have an equally ancient culture and heritage that we should be proud of and display that to the world instead of aping the western culture blindly. I found many similarities between the Chinese traditions and our own Indian traditions. They are very much alike. For eg, we too believe in the "footsteps" that are considered auspicious and you will find those symbols in front of doorsteps in many Hindu houses. A newly wed Hindu Bride enters the house by kicking a pot of rice and stepping on "Kumkum" that leaves the footprints on the floor as she enters the house. The Chinese too made the athletes step on color to leave their footprints on the scroll before entering the arena. That was great. I loved every bit of it. Yes, I am curious to see what the London 2012 Olympics will be like. Will Great Britain be able to match these standards? They were one of the greatest empires once upon a time. And they have the advantage of already hosting the Olympic Games in the past (1948).
