Biblical Metaphors -A Key to Prosperity - "Be like a tree"

Biblical metaphors the key to prosperity: (Be like a tree)

The bible uses many symbols and metaphors to describe people for example Jesus himself is called the bread of life and the light of the world to name a few. I will be pointing out key information in these metaphors that have a vast amount of wisdom for success in any area of life. In this segment I will be exploring Psalm chapter number one where it symbolizes the believer as a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth fruit in it’s season ( fruit means productivity).

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, or stands in the way of sinners or sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doeth he meditate day and night and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season…

First of all the bible talks about relationships and it is important to understand that birds of a feather do…flock together and if a person wants to find out the character of another, all they need to do is just look at who one hangs out and associates with. The counsel of the ungodly is contrary to the word of God because a persons counsel which is really their opinion will only be based on the persons past and present experiences. If a person has been scarred coming from an abused home, their opinion will be totally different than that of a person coming from a loving home. So then one must be careful of the relationships associated with. If the group is not all headed in the same direction, then there must be separation because Amos 3 says can two walk together except they be agreed? This principal could be clearly seen in the life of Abraham in the book of Genesis where God clearly told him to come out from among his country and kindred to a land that he was going to show him. But he disobeyed God and took his nephew Lot with him. Later they finally had to depart because there was strife between Abrahams servants and Lots servants, so Abraham gives Lot the choice of which land to take, and Lot chose the land toward Sodom. After Lot and his servants departed, God at that time asks Abraham to look out from where he was and all the land that he saw God promised to give to him and his seed. Lot kept Abraham from seeing everything that belonged to him because he did not hear God speak until he got back into obedience and separated from him. Wrong relationships will stop productivity from happening and not hearing the voice of God will put ones dream and vision on hold. For every Elisha there is an Elijah, for every Ruth there is a Naomi, For every Paul there is a Timothy and for you and I there is a mentor, someone who will help bring the dream and promise of God to pass in ones life.

Characteristics of a tree for success

Psalm one says that a persons delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doeth he meditate day and night and he shall be Like a Tree… One must read and apply the word of God to their life so that the character of the tree develops in ones life. A tree is stable and one must have stability to succeed because stability causes one to stay focused and in the same place until productivity comes. A regular tree waits through the spring summer winter and fall because it knows that fruit is coming in its season. One must not soon give up in what is being pursued, but must be willing to wait. Stability also teaches a person not to be in a hurry, but to wait for opportunities and doors to open at the right place at the right time.
