Bipolar disorder: illness or excuse

Bipolar disorder is definitely an illness and not an excuse. I'm a nurse and have work with many bipolar patients. I also live with a bipolar brother. I can tell you that bipolar can ruin the lives of the patients and their family. My family have suffered so much because of my little brother who is bipolar.

Bipolar should be taking seriously and it's never an excuse. All bipolar patients should be treated and remain in treatment until they are well. Bipolar is a medical condition that is very serious. Patients that are bipolar and left untreated can become worse and can become suicidal even. There are some bipolar patients that end up getting lost and run away from home and don't have a clue what they are doing. I know so because my brother was running away from home and have no idea where he was going. He was going crazy and destroyed his car and drive wildly on the road. Bipolar patients don't even know that they are hurting themselves and the potential of problems that they can run into. Their mental state of mind is very poor. I usually see people being posted as missing and they also have bipolar.

Bipolar patients can become better if they are on medication. I know this is true because my brother have been so much better since he is on medication. My brother have lost everything in his life to his illness. I have lost money and personal documents because he forgot where he puts them.

Bipolar patients should be left in treatment until they are well so that they are not at harm to themselves and other people. I have work with numerous patients in the hospital with bipolar and they are no joke. Bipolar patients suffer a great deal and their lives are not going anywhere. They need the doctor's help.

Bipolar is a condition that occurs because of many inducing agents and one of those is illegal drug uses. 9 out 10 cases of bipolar patients have a history of drug abuse. If you look at the definition of bipolar it has something to do with chemistry being unbalanced. Why do think all of the sudden someone's brain chemistry become unbalanced. They must have done something to it and it becomes unbalanced. What do you think they did to it? The answer is drug use. Drug is the sure agent to change your brain chemistry. How do you feel when you are drunk or taking cough medicine. Drugs are the ultimate agents that change your brain chemistry and thus making you ill and act abnormal. All of the sudden , you will become depressed, mad, aggressive and super hyper in in day.

If someone you know have bipolar, you should get them to the doctors as soon as possible. You should also assess for illegal drug use and help them get to rehab. Bipolar disorder is a very dangerous condition and can lead to death by reckless behaviors if not treated soon.
