Bitten by Kelley Armstrong -Book Review
posted September 9, 2009 - 12:26amBitten by Kelley Armstrong is the first novel in a series I have come to love. The rest of the series (which will be reviewed as I finish rereading or reading them) include Stolen, Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic, Hunted, Broken, No humans involved, Personal Demon, and Living with the dead.
Elena Michaels is a journalist, with a stable boyfriend and an apartment in Toronto. She’s also a werewolf running from a dark past. When it comes back to haunt her, she has to choose between her two worlds and decide who she really is. I loved Elena’s strength and bad attitude. It made her quite the interesting character.
Jeremy is my favorite by far however. The pack Alpha is the ultimate person of composure and planning without being “fake” about it.
Clayton drives me crazy, but is still a great character. Driving you crazy is sort of the point.
The book’s feel is different in that it’s in first person. You see everything through the eyes of Elena which makes for an interesting viewpoint. There’s a lot of action, and the werewolf society is quite complex and enjoyable to read.
This book is included in my top 10 books for Halloween reading. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2154715/top_10_halloween_books_for_young_adults.html?cat=38
