After social networking, the next big thing on the net is what I call “Knowledge Networking” and sites like www.xomba.com and www.ehow.com are already taking the lead.  Blogging is actually a part of knowledge networking, if you know what I mean.< p>

If you have ever kept a diary, you’ll understand what blogging is all about. But unlike your diary which is private, your blog is meant to be public- something everyone has access to.

  Now how do you make your blog to become highly visible to the internet public without spending a dime?

Before you even think of promoting your blog, there are some ground rules of blogging you need to acquaint yourself with. Here they are:

1)      You are not allowed to post comments on hate, terrorism, pornography, and commercial messages.

2)      Don’t allow comments to stay on your log for more than a week.

This is because visitors will only visit your blog always if you have fresh content posted on it. And this translates to more earnings for you as visitors continue coming back and clicking on Google ads displayed on your blog.

Here are some strategies you can use to promote your blog and actually make money from it:

1)      Go to online forums that are related to your subject matter and tell people of your blog. Always leave a link to it on the forums you visit.

2)      Write keyword rich articles related to the subject matter of your blog and submit them to article directories such as: www.ezinearticles.com; www.goarticles.com; www.isnare.com; and www.amazines.com. Always remember to put a link to your blog in the articles you write.

3)      You can create a lens on the subject matter of your blog at www.squidoo.com and put a link to your blog in it.

4)      You can promote your blog on your profile when you join social networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and the newest kid on the block, www.sokule.com

5)      Always use a signature file in all your outgoing emails or any thing you are doing on the net. It should be just a line or two with a link to your blog under it. This should be in every email you’re sending to anyone, including messages in chat.
