Bogus relationship on My Space causes suicide of Megan Meier

A six week relationship between a hot 16 year-old boy (Josh Evans) and an overweight 13 year-old girl (Megan Meier) on My Space ended with the suicide of the 13 year old. Josh Evans was created by the parents of a girl living down the block from the Meiers. Megan had gone on vacations with the family. They knew her and wanted to humiliate her. For more go to:

After reading the news article I am pretty infuriated. 1. Myspace and sites with social networking aspects (like Xomba) cannot be held responsible in situations like this. We do everything in our power to ensure a safe environment. 2. Parents need to put the computer in the family room. Period. Kids under 16 should not have a myspace account. 3. Notify Myspace, Xomba, Facebook anytime abuse occurs. Immediately. Which includes a public message about calling someone a derogatory name. 4. Impersonating a person is a crime. At least I've always thought it is. I know it is against the rules on most websites. It is against the rules here. 5. What kind of adult impersonates a 16 year old to get back at their daughter's friend??? Seriously?
