I wish I had gotten in on the comments in response to this Bollywood wedding business, but alas, the thread I would have liked to have respond to has been closed.

I would just like to say that it never ceases to amaze me the ignorance some people so willingly display here. To tell everyone not to click on ads here, Kdaws, is akin to shooting off your own foot!

Besides, clicks have nothing to do with views...and yes, it is quite conceivable to have 1000 views within an hour!

It seems to me that maybe you are just miffed because you aren't the one who is writing whatever happens to be popular right now, and so you decided to bad mouth those who did.

Although reading your post prompted me to write this, it isn't directed solely at you, so please don't take exception to it. There are plenty of people on this site who this pertains to...you just happened to be the one standing in the road right now.

Rather than worrying about what everyone else is doing here on Xomba, some of you would do better to spend your time studying up on how best to market your writing, and how to draw attention to your own articles.

Read our Make Money, Getting Started, and FAQ sections! Those sections are packed with hints and tips on how to write and on how best to draw attention to your writing.

Pay attention when you are posting things!! Take time and put some thought into choosing your TITLE... choose your CATEGORY, choose your TAGS...all of these things make a huge difference. If it's a Xomblurb, then post it as a Xomblurb, not as a Xombyte!! All of these things are important or we wouldn't be offering you the options!!

Nobody likes to open up an article that has little or nothing to do with your TITLE or TAGS...and what the hell is this Xombyte doing in this category when it has nothing to do with Arts or Activities!!??

These small failures on your part will eventually lead to you making a name for yourself where people won't even bother opening up anything you've written because they know it's going to be a disappointment. If you think this kind of thing doesn't catch up with you, you are wrong.

Cheap, cheesy little tricks don't pay off in the long run either...placing a word or words in your title to draw attention don't pay off in the long run. Make your TITLE count, and then make sure your article contains what the TITLE and TAGS suggest it's going to.

I'm also amazed at how sloppy some of you are when typing your TITLE. Not to embarrass anyone in particular here, but take the title, "Another Great Place to earn money while writing". Started out good...but it should read, "Another Great Place to Earn Money While Writing", or "Britney Spears caught wearing underwear" (Britney Spears Caught Wearing Underwear"), or Abhishek Bachanan , Aishwarya Rai to Honey moon in Ireland ?! ("Abhishek Bachanan and Aishwarya Rai to Honeymoon in Ireland?") Take any one of the titles you see on the right of your screen right now and tell me how they look to you?

Things like this, believe it or not, are going to affect how your articles are viewed not just in the short term but in the long term too.

When you are posting a Xombyte especially, or a Xomblurb, take care to choose your TITLE and present it in it's proper form. Take time to choose your TAGS because these are words that will draw attention to your article where your title may not.

Ask yourself, when someone goes to Google search, or another search engine, what words are they likely to type in to look up something about this particular subject. Make sure they pertain to the subject you are writing about and that the body of your work contains these words.

Articles about how to make money online, should contain tags other than "make money online", "make money writing", "make money easy", make money, make money, make money. Search engines steer clear of this tactic anymore.

Use your imagination!! Remember that you are writing for a living and that it's up to you to market your work!! Xomba only gives you a place to do it, for free!! And we split the money with you. You aren't going to find another site like Xomba on the internet who does this for you.

We can not be held responsible for your own failings. We can only give you the tools to work with. Don't just come on here and slam things up and expect that you are going to make a killing at it if you aren't employing the tools we give you, and then get mad at us for it.

I'll probably get in trouble for posting this...and I didn't mean to embarrass anyone here by using your title as an example. But quit being a bunch of whiners and make the most of your time on here rather than worrying about what the other guy is doing!
