John McCain has gotten into a bit of trouble over a joke he made in South Carolina last Wednesday. When asked "when are we going to send an air message to Iran?" he responded by singing "bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" to the tune of the Beach Boys "Barbara Ann." First off - very funny. Did he think of that himself? I bet he stayed up all night with his speech writers trying to come up with that one. Were the Beatles' "Bush in the sky with air bombs" and "I want to Bomb Iran" already being used by some other conservative crooner? I believe those would have cost a royalty fee. How about Simon and Garfunkel's "Bombs over Troubled Iran, I will lay thee smack down?"

So McCain makes a joke that kinda makes one smirk but face it, a stutter would only improve his comedic timing. Then all the right-wings and leftists go nuts. MoveOn.org, the liberal political group, makes ads saying that McCain is too wreckless and too much like bush while "Fair and Balanced" FOX News goes on the defense by saying McCain is following though on this country's commitments.

Here are the three videos anyone needs to make their own judgement call. In Case you are wondering why I haven't taken a side yet - I'm waiting for the techno remix. Preferably the Aggro 1 "Barbara Ann v. John McCain" mash up.

Nice use of music to communicate attitude

Keep it up, Sue. This may make you a radical student of the practical. I liked the whole posting.
