Koena Mitra, born on 7th January 1985 in Kolkata was named after the renowned Bengali river of the same name that happens to be a tributary of the infamous Krishna Rivers in India.

Koena initially gained prominence winning the Gladrags Mega Model Contest in 2002 that followed with her first break in Bollywood as an Item Girl in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Road’ in the song “Khullam Khulla” that soon became a big craze across the country.

Koena, although being a spectacular dancer by herself was trained in ballet troupe for 12 years that she implements on her onscreen dance screen performances that undoubtedly sizzles the ambience. She was very succesfull with her career as an item girl and her attempts raising her stardom as as actress with certain movies resulted badly at the box office.
