Responding to lagging sales, Borders has decided to reorganize and focus on on its domestic superstore operations while downsizing its international operations and its Waldenbooks specialty group.

In addition the company, which has been using Amazon.com to handle its online business, will institute its own online retail operation through Borders.com and will significantly increase its proprietary publishing program.
