Breast cancer awareness initiative launched in India

According to news reports the month of October is being celebrated as "Awareness Month" and among the various issues that need "Awareness" is "Breast Cancer in Women". India has taken the initiative to launch "Breast cancer Awareness in Women" by providing free screening for the same in collaboration with Jarvis Breast Cancer Screening Center, London. Three charitable organisations, including Dr Reddy?s Foundation for Health Education, have joined hands towards this cause.The other two are Hyderabad-based Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation and MKC Trust Roko Cancer Campaign founded by Ajinder Pal Singh Chawla, a non resident Indian from London.

The country has the incidence of one lakh new breast cancer cases every year.
