Brief Rant on Ebay
I few years ago I figured I'd jump on the ebay bandwagon. I mean, I'd heard tales of people making huge sums of money with their auctions. Problem is, I'd never been very good at selling anything. But I figured auctions are a different story. You don't have the usual problem of getting traffic to your site. You just put something for sale, and their site does the rest. Simple, right?
Well, it's been almost four years since I first got my feet wet on ebay. I'm not a Powerseller yet, but I'm still optimistic -- or should that be delusional? I've pretty much run out of my own crap to sell, so I'm currently searching the second hand stores, and yard sales, for other people's crap. Sooner or later, I'm bound to come across some crap with a holy image, and make a killing.
I've tried many methods of preparing grilled sandwiches, but so far the best I've managed to come up with is one with an image, somewhat fuzzy, of Madonna, circa 1989. I thought maybe it was a sign I was on the right track, so I started experimenting with different oils. The next one came up with a very clear image of Rosie O'Donnell. That's scared me right off the project for good.
I still get a little extra income from the venture, so I'll keep plugging away. What really cheeses me off is the way ebay sticks it to you with insertion fee, closing fees -- and of course, PayPal takes a little bite out of your payments. Greedy buggers!
LOL... I know - it's a jungle out there. +1
