BRIGADOON Set to Reappear on Broadway

According to a press release from Boneau Bryan/Brown, a new production of BRIGADOON will have its world premiere in Boston this fall, prior to opening on Broadway in Spring, 2009.

BRIGADOON is the story of two disillusioned Americans on vacation in Scotland who wander into a village that comes alive every 100 years for only one day. The show features an original book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe.

Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford (Thoroughly Modern Millie) directs and choreographs this powerfully danced, boldly re-imagined production, which features a new book by Tony Award-winner John Guare (Six Degrees of Separation).

BRIGADOON will be produced by Ostar Productions and Liza Lerner.

Lerner & Loewe’s classic score for BRIGADOON includes such songs as “Almost Like Being In Love,” “Waiting for My Dearie,” “Come to Me, Bend to Me,” “There But For You Go I,” “I’ll Go Home With Bonnie Jean,” and “The Heather on the Hill”.

The original production of BRIGADOON opened on March 13, 1947 at the Ziegfeld Theatre, and was directed by Robert Lewis and choreographed by Agnes de Mille.

The creative team for BRIGADOON features Christopher Oram (sets and costumes), Paule Constable (lighting) and Brian Ronan (sound). The music department will be led by David Chase.

Have fun!

Have a great time at CATS and MAMMA MIA. Hope you get to see a lot more cool theatre!

This might be a fun show

My wife and I recently saw Wicked in Los Angeles and are going to see Cats in about a week and maybe see Mamma Mia next month. When this show makes it to LA or somewhere closer, it will be worth a look. Thanks for the heads up! DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?
