Bring the round of roses

Bring the round of roses

There once was a young lady, born into riches and beauty, with a destiny that many believed would consist of spoiled greed. She had silk blonde hair that ran down to her back and piercing green eyes, servants often would whisper that her eyes were tainted green to forever display her true color. Despite her undesirable background, many favored her for her beauty and grace; " a rose in bloom that drifts gracefully along the indolent current."

Never did she walk down the paths of commen people or exchange civilized greetings with other villagers, she was to speak to elite, walk down appropriate streets, and act accordingly - her parents exact wishes. But the villagers never heard the king or queen's secret scoldings to the princess and so many held a deep hatred for the young lady. "She must believe that she is the lord, that dispicable child," the villager's whispered. None, however, would speak aloud these spiteful insults for it would mean certain beheading.

The young lady, of fifteen going on sixteen, was aware of these rumors and scandolous lies, growing very angry and hurt she almost ordered all residants who stood by these beliefs to be brought to court. However, her supriers convinced her otherwise. Frustrated, the princess ran outside to the rarley visited rose garden. The garden consisted more than just roses, but of flowers all colors and shapes. It had three main areas; the tea field, a basic garden, and the moonflower maze. Each were connected through a series of paths that would finally lead to the forest, though no one has ever made it to the forest.

The tea field, was a field surronded by roses of various colors their entrancing thorns sticking out fashionably and in the middle was rose trees that covered delicate white tables and chairs. The tables and chairs looked feeble and exhibited a time where they could have been pearl white but now is a rotted yellow. Rose petals scattered on top, the tea field left a nostalgic feeling relating to that of a funeral. The young girl would often rember a time when she would play with her friend here, smiling at the memories until the image of his funeral would filter through her mind; she ran faster and farther away from that area.

The basic garden wasn't basic at all. It teased logic with illusions; water falling up into the vase, grass of a red hue, and consisting of everything but a plant. Velet cushions lay admist upon the ground, broken china bowls and torn clothes hang on metal posts - the closest to resembling a tree. The yound lady often sprinted pass this area more so than the others, feeling the overbarring sence of depression and hidden malice, she could not bear another second upon its bloodly soil.

By the time she reaches the moonflower maze, the sun is just setting into the land and vibrant hues of red, orange, yellow, and purple are filtered onto the sky. She approches the dark green arch of vines, here the moonflowers are pink, they sadley droop until the last droplet of light leaves its thin petals. Reaching the arch, the flowers bloom a vibrant pink and create stars of their own. The young lady hesitates, she knows that the rose garden had been here longer before the kingdom was built and she was aware of the myths of murderers that lurk within its walls - "a monster!" the people say - , but with a brisk nod of her head, the young enters in the mazes domain.

By tommorrow the pink roses shall be red.

To be continued...
