Britney Spears Loses Her Kids; Court Gives Federline Custody

Britney Spears has lost custody of her two children, it was reported Monday afternoon, Oct. 1st.

TMZ.com says that the judge in the case has issued an order that says that Kevin Federline, Britney's ex-husband and the boys' father, "is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:00 PM until further order of the court."

Spears and Federline have two boys: Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

The Britney Spears custody case has been an ongoing saga because of Spears's erratic behavior, including late-night partying and stints in rehab. The tabloids have had a field day with the the escapades of Britney, which range from dropping her kids to driving a car without them being secured to losing her driver's license. Apparently the judge has decided that K-Fed would be a more capable parents in the Spears child custody case.

The same judge had earlier in September said that Spears engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol" and ordered her to take part random drug and alcohol testing twice a week. And he ordered her to undergo parenting classes.

The court's decision doesn't mean Britney Spears has lost custody forever, though; the document gives K-Fed custody "until further order of the court," so Britney could get the kids back if she cleans up her act in a big way.

TMZ also has a link to a PDF file of the actual court order.
