Britney Spears' Mother Writes A Book About Parenting

It was announced today that Britney Spears' mother is writing a book about parenting.....

I almost don't know what to say about that.

I have often heard that no matter what it is you want to sell, if you put it out there, eventually, someone will come along and buy it....

It must be true....

I can not imagine anyone looking to Britney Spears' mother for parenting advice.

The book has been contracted by a publishing house that sells books through Christian book stores.....

And.....it will probably will make the best seller list....

Go figure..

Losing Control

We all lose control of our children when they become adults. Parenting is about keeping them alive and healthy until then and preparing them to be responsible, productive adults. I don't see Britney or Lindsay's parents as having accomplished those goals..... Of course, anyone can write anything they want...... What is really sad is that the book will probably be wildly successful .... financially.... I can think of so many places those dollars could be spent in a more productive manner.... Angel

The only thing scarier...

Would be Lindsay Lohan's parents writing a book on parenting. Mom could talk about bonding with your underage child while going out clubbing, and Dad could talk about bonding while sharing your experiences in rehab and drunk driving. I don't know much about Britney's mom... most of Britney's destructive behavior happened after she turned 18, when mom no longer had any control. Lohan's parents have no such excuse.

It would be funny were it not so sad...

Britney's mother writing such a book is like: Oedipus writing a book about meeting women. Hannibal Lechter writing a book about vegetarianism. Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton writing a book about humility and avoiding the public spotlight. George Bush writing a book on preserving the Constitution. Elizabeth Taylor writing a book of tips for a successful marriage. Paris Hilton writing a book on waiting until marriage. Ellen Degeneres writing a book on pleasing a man. I could go on, but she is the last person who should consider herself a paragon of proper parenting. _______________________________________________________ "In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act."--George Orwell

Oh jeez. That just seems so... wrong.
