Britney Spears showed up last night at the MTV VMA's looking drunk or at least slightly anesthetized--she must have thought she was going to need it. And she did.

Almost at the beginning of her performance, Britney visibly gave up and continued to walk through the song, dancing here and there when she felt like it. At times, Britney barely moved her mouth to lip synch to the words of the song.

Last night's VMA performance was probably the worst Britney Spears performance ever. And this was supposed to be a comeback.

Did anyone see the Sarah Silverman "comedy" routine that came after Britney's performance--it was almost worse.
