One of the best live music sites in the New York area is the oddly named Brooklyn Vegan. (The guy who started it is, you guessed it, a vegan from Brooklyn, and once the site became popular I guess he figured it was too well known to change the title.)< p>

Brooklyn Vegan is updated several times each day, usually, and includes ample listings of current and upcoming concerts, along with news of music venue openings and closings, new artists on the scene, new albums and tours, and more. Occasionally the site has free MP3 downloads.
