Bubble wraps - new uses apart from packaging!
posted November 20, 2007 - 2:09amBubble wraps are conventionally used as packaging materials. Trust the Japanese to think out of the box! A Japanese company has taken them to whole new heights. Known locally as Puti Puti (pronounced Poochy Poochy) it is manufactured by Kawakami Sangyo Company.
Human Psychology is such that you see a chair you want to sit, you see a button you want to push it and bubble wraps conform to this. You see a bubble sticking out, you want to quash it! Some of the uses of bubble wraps include injecting them with colored ink to create a mosaic, sitting on the sheets during picnics, sewing them onto wedding dresses, popping them to prevent senility, breaking them while watching TV to keep the hands busy and thus reduce craving for junk food!
A small box containing small sheets of these bubble wraps called as Pucchin Sukatto went up on sale and costs 1.78 USD. A Puti Puti calendar is also available with one bubble per day to be broken!
