Buying a Car From a Private Party

If you are planning to buy a used car from a private individual, here is a link to an article that may be able to help you.   This article covers the basics of transferring the vehicle ownership document called the title.  It's a good idea to check out this article if you don't have a lot of experience with buying cars from other individuals, because you want to be able to determine if the person selling the car has the legal right to do so.  Also you want have an idea how to avoid making errors on the document because that can further complicate the process of transferring ownership.

Hopefully the transfer process will go smoothly, and you will own a car that you enjoy for years to come.  I wish you luck!
