Buying My Son's First Gun
posted October 11, 2009 - 9:12pmThis past weekend, I decided it was time to buy my son's first gun. You probably would think I am crazy for buying it already since he is not even three months old, but I was too excited to pass it up. The gun I bought was a youth model Rossi with interchangeable barrels (410 shotgun and 22LR) and has two separate safety systems, which I find very important when teaching a youngster how to operate a gun. This is an important part of growing up in my eyes. I firmly believe in the Second Amendment and I firmly believe all children should have the opportunity to learn about guns, how to safely use them for purposes such as hunting, and also how to defend yourself in the rare situation you need to do so. Maybe I am crazy for buying it so early, but it seems to me to be a great starter gun for a youngster, and it was only 127 dollars at Walmart. That is hard to beat. I hope everyone exercises their right to be a gun owner, and I really hope everyone uses their gun responsibly.
