I think, the best way to control your weight is to look yourself in the mirror... but only sometimes!

BMI only factors in height and weight anyway and no factors related to health. It's therefore a very inaccurate estimation of health or anything else for that matter. It merely gives you an index number that basically tells you nothing about your health status and may vary greatly between individuals. People that are considered overweight on the BMI scale may in reality be extremely healthy individuals.
Here's the formula for calculating BMI in pounds and kilos

BMI = ( Weight in Pounds / ( Height in inches ) x ( Height in inches ) ) x 703

BMI = ( Weight in Kilograms / ( Height in Meters ) x ( Height in Meters ) )

as you can see there's really not much to it

If one wants a more accurate and useful measure of health status and overweight/underweight, body composition and fat percentage measuring tools is more appropriate.

I think, the life today is too frenetic and you have no time to eat or have too much to eat! My Grandparents lived in Italy, ate healthy and have worked a lot outside and inside, (at home too and with their children). Today we have to sit down and work or we are nervous and stressed and all these things are bad for us! I know many people: they have never time to cook something and to go out for a walk. Just fast a "fast food" with "pommes" and mayonneise or cream and so on... and then they are tired and want just to sit down watching TV.
