Campaign to Keep the Staffordshire Hoard in Mercia
 
What is now known as the Staffordshire Hoard will all be at the British Museum in London by the end of this week. Tomorrow (13th October 2009) will perhaps be the last day that the public will be able to view any part of it in its original Mercian Lands. Tomorrow is the last day of the exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BM&AG) of a few token artefacts from the massive hoard which comprises over 11,000 pieces, the gold of which weighs more than ten pounds or 4.5 kilos.
 
BM&AG have been making a collection to keep the Staffordshire Hoard local. To donate the fund see the link below:
