Campbell Brown: Obama Breaks Promise on Campaign Finance

CNN's Campbell Brown takes Barack Obama to task for breaking his promise to stay within the publicly funded campaign finance system for the presidential race.

Brown says that Obama "has raised well over $600 million since the start of his campaign, close to what George Bush and John Kerry raised combined in 2004." (You can read Campbell Brown's entire column at the CNN Web site here.

She notes that last November, Obama had "pledged to accept public financing and to work with the Republican nominee to ensure that they both operated within those limits." But when it became clear that Obama was going to be able to raise far more money on his own than he could get through public financing, "Obama went back on his word," she notes.

Brown notes that former Sen. Bob Kerrey of Nebraska (who is an Obama supporter) wrote today that "a hypocrite is a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue -- who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings. And that, it seems to me, is what we are doing now."

To me it was an early warning what kind of integrity Obama has, and it was a clear red flag that should have been noticed by all. It plainly shows his intentions to keep his campaign promises, LOL. To read my posts and articles click here: http://www.xomba.com/xombyte/lmorovan
