at Lake Arbuckle that much more enjoyable.
Hiking
Lake Arbuckle offers many great trails for campers to hike. Don’t worry about horse encounters since the Lake Wales Ridge Forest does not allow horses on the hiking trails as well as during hunting season.
Hunting
During designated seasons Lake Arbuckle has abundant hunting grounds. Deer hunting is very prevalent in the surrounding area and many hunters trek to Lake Arbuckle to partake.
Bird Watching
Many types of endangered birds inhabit the Lake Arbuckle area. Probably the most popular of these species are bald eagles. One can also see: ospreys, scrub-jays, short-tailed hawks, wading birds and limpkins.
Boating
Lake Arbuckle offers a boating ramp off of the North end of the lake. Campers can enjoy not only active boating, but also the great fishing Lake Arbuckle offers.
Fishing
Lake Arbuckle is a bass lake. Up to 15 pound bass have been caught and recorded from the lake winning more than a few trophies for the lucky fishermen. If you do not have a boat to fish, there is limited fishing allowed off of some of the banks of Lake Arbuckle.
