Can a Fish Play Fetch?

Can a Fish Play Fetch?

Has your beta or goldfish been looking a bit listless lately? Drifting aimlessly from one side of the tank to the other, occasionally wriggling through the castle without much gusto? Maybe she’s bored. Recent studies have shown that fish are much more highly intelligent than previously thought, and any creature with even a minimum of intelligence is likely to get bored with nothing to challenge its interest.

How do you keep a fish entertained? What about teaching it the rudiments of soccer? Impossible? The Fish School has done just that, and trained fish to do other tricks as well. They’ve been featured on Good Morning America and in Discover Magazine. Their website features pictures and videos of the fish in action, and they sell a book and a training kit if you wish to train your own fish. From the testimonials, the tricks seem entertaining for both the fish and their owners.
