I Can Has Writing Skillz?

It’s okay. Maybe nobody noticed….*glances around* Did they? No, no, I don’t think so. Phew. After the recent undercurrent of anti bad-grammar/terrible-writing-skills/atrocious-spelling feelings, I thought maybe some folks would notice and then think I was doing it on purpose. But I swear, I wasn’t! < p>

I didn’t mean to spelling it ‘beliving’ instead of 'believing' or to omit several important adjectives so that my sentences read like a slurring, drunken Albanian pirate first thing in the morning. Honestly, if those comments I posted were ever marked by the Board of Education it would be in red pen with letters such as F and D- written all over. Although in saying that, I’ve heard in recent years that they are now allowing children to write in txt-language on their exams; - you know, the whole ‘2’ means ‘to’/’too’ or ‘u’ means ‘you’. Anyways, I digress so I won’t speak of that jazz (and also because it really pisses me off).

Don’t worry, it’s been corrected now; those double letters and missing words that seemed to pop up at least 3 or so times in every comment I posted this evening. It’s just that I’ve been working real hard all day; Lady Luck and Mr Fate joined forces to challenge me by making sure I work with a bunch of mean-assed (not mention lazy and racist) psycho-beasts.
So, you see, they’ve all guaranteed that I’m exhausted by the end of the day with my brain buzzing around my skull, chasing a multiplex of thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I can be thinking of these thoughts and maybe, for a second or two, I space-out and forget about what I’m writing, omitting a few words as I go. So…you know… that’s why my sentence might read “There once was a Canada flew out of the sky” instead of “There once was a badger named Jeff and he went on holiday to Canada. Monkeys flew out of his butt and the sky was on fire.” See? The last sentence made much more sense….grammatically. I didn't mean to miss out whole sections of sentences tonight, they just....escaped.

Also, it’s Friday and I’m trying to get some writing done (albeit apathetically) before spending some much needed alcohol-fuelled/quality time with my loving, understanding spouse. Again, my concentration for writing flags somewhat.

I have music playing at the moment. Not any specific genre, just a medley of tunes ranging from up-beat country to epic classical to somewhat-heavy metal. These varying tempos and lyrics and song-provoked-vibes can also contribute to my writing quality, or lack thereof. Seriously, I didn’t mean to write ‘form’ instead of ‘from’, or ‘thougrts’ when it should have been ‘thoughts’.

So I’m sorry if anyone noticed my many writing mistakes this evening but I have a lot on my mind and I think it also has some problems of its own o_0.

At least with this article, I have used a Word programme instead of writing directly into the Xombyte space as I usually do. Although, due to my sometimes ‘colloquial’ style of writing, words like ‘gonna’, ‘kinda’ and ‘ain’t’ tend to show up as spelling errors. I refuse to change/correct them; - I like writing the way I speak.
I like writing to y’all in a relax kind of manner. It’s not like I write this way when communicating on a professional level. It doesn’t mean I slur my words in ‘real-life’, nor does it mean I have no grasp on the English language.

So please, don’t judge my writing when it contains a grammatical error or a spelling mistake. Don’t think I do not care about the quality of my writing or that I am lazy. I’m simply human and I make mistake......o_0

And also, I do has writing skillz.

I like semi-colons; you can

I like semi-colons; you can throw them in when you can't think of a smart-arse word connecting two phrases and when a full-stop seems too cruel a separation. we're back to being anal again. Join Xomba Here

heh,

I tend be kinda anal when it comes to apostrophes and speech-marks....lucky, I guess?, it comes naturally. I do have a thing about comas though - love throwing in those bad boys whenever I can, even to excess. I agree with you about the 'apple's a pound a pound' apostrophe thing. Grr.

yeah but I can tell you've

yeah but I can tell you've been cheating coz all the apostrophes are correct. Anyway, I don't mind all the typos it's the language that gets me. its or it's their and they're accept or except (that one is staggeringly illiterate) to, too, two, 2 apostrophes for plurals (apple's a pound a pound!) oh that's enough boring crap... they could teach some logic at school, but no, let's copy and paste instead coz that looks pretty and we can print it out and stick it on their foreheads to show mummy... I bet no one reads...

...this article because of the title.....you know, with hindsight.
