When I began writing for my first paid to write site six months ago, there were many people who advised me that you could not make a living writing for such sites. They were wrong.

While paid to write sites will not make you rich or famous, you definitely can make a living from writing for such sites. In 6 months, I have gone from making nothing writing to making more than half my “day job” income and each month my writing income grows steadily.

It has not been an easy road. My first month writing I made a grand total of $0.56. Certainly nothing in that amount to lead most people to feel encouraged. But for me it was a revelation. The way I looked at it was that if I could make money, no matter how the small the amount from writing then that meant there was potential out there to make a living from On line writing.

I began studying ways I could increase my writing income. I found myself learning about all sorts of things I did not know about such as SEOs, writing sites, and freelance writing jobs. I formed a 6 month, 1 year, and 2 year plan to take me where I wanted to go with my writing income and thought long and hard about what I needed to do to get there.

Here are just a few of the things I have learned.

Writing is not a 9 to 5 job. If you want to make a career out of writing you are going to have to write and write, and then write some more. You need to become proficient at turning out quality content and a lot of it. This takes time and commitment, and hour upon hour spent at the computer or in doing research.

Good Writing or even great writing is not enough. While my writing is what makes the income for me. Writing is not enough to insure me a good income no matter how well I write, I won't earn money unless someone out there is reading what I write.

While some sites do a lot to promote your work, there is a lot you can do yourself to get those article viewed and build a readership base.

Other Writers are the foundation of any good readership base. I learned early on that reading the work of other writers on the sites I am on is invaluable in helping me to build a career in writing. Other writers offer support, encouragement, and help build a base on which all your future views can be built.

When you read the work of other writers, offer comments, and form a friendly community, other writers return the favor. There have been cases where my friendship with other writers have lead to large increase in view as they have passed links of some of my articles on to their friends who then passed it on to others.

Learn to make your articles search engine friendly is also a great way to increase your views. People are not going to read your articles if they can't be found among the other millions of articles on the net. Getting your articles on the first page of a search will drastically increase your views.

If you are not Passionate about your writing you will not make it as an on line writer. There are many good writers out there who view writing as a fast way to make a buck. When they discover that making a living writing takes a lot of work and effort they give up.

Without the passion, the drive that makes writing an essential part of your make up you will not not make it as an on line writer. The hours are simply too long, the demands to great for writing to be a hit or miss occupations. Dedication and finding joy in your writing are keys to success.

While almost every one can make money writing, not everyone can make a career from it. But if you are determined to write, then paid to write writing sites can earn you a decent living if you are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
