There can be a certain charm in using trash in your garden,
especially when you transform the simplest of objects and give them an
aesthetic honesty.

Take the humble tin can with its strong
lines and curves and shiny metallic silver surface: eventually it will
rust and take on an orange patina, but even that looks correct when
paired with greenery. Set against the vibrant tangerines and yellows of
the French marigold it becomes something quite special.
