Carambola Golf and Country Club is part of the Carambola Beach Resort on the northwest coast of the island. Named for the star fruit tree, the Carambola Resort was part of a 4,000 acre development by the late Laurence Rockefeller. Located on what once was a thriving sugar plantation during Danish colonial occupation of the island, ruins of the stone houses of the plantation and the signature sugar mills are found on the resort site.
